IE math question: If working time= 60 min., average cycle time= 20 sec., performance rating= 100% and allowance= 20% Then Capacity=? If 20% allowance decreased from working time then Capacity=?

We know that,

Basic time= Average cycle time x Performance rating

                  = 20 x 100%

                  = 20 sec.

          SMV= Basic Time + (Basic Time x Allowance)

                  = 20 + (20 x 20%)

                  = 20 + 4

                  = 24 sec.

          SMV= 24/60

                  =0.4 min.

   Capacity= 60/SMV

                  =60/.4

                  = 150 pcs (Answer)

2^nd Solution:

If 20% decreased from working hour then we get,

                  = 60 – (60 x 20%)

                  = 60 – 12

                  = 48 min.

   Capacity= 48/SMV

                  = 48/.4

                  = 120 pcs (Answer)
